Plug-n-play Experiential

With experiential marketing nowadays, your imagination and creativity are the only limitations you have (apart from budget) to make something amazing. For every idea or challenge put up, there is always a creative or tech driven solution. Sometimes though, a simple tried-and-tested off-the-shelf piece of kit is all you need.

Understanding your needs and the mindset or behaviours of your audience is crucial to any brand experience. In an ideal world it’s as clear cut as:

  1. Stop audience in tracks with attention-grabbing activity

  2. Entertain or WOW them with something fun they will shout about

  3. Leave them with something that repeatedly reminds them of you

  4. Drive purchase

At festivals, conferences and events the “Wow-Factor” and personalisation/shareability elements are key in getting cut-through where your brand will be competing with a number of other sponsors, partners and audience-hijackers. But just because you want to set yourself apart, doesn’t mean you need to reinvent the wheel every single time.

Here are a couple of successful plug-n-play tech activations for you to build into your experience.

1)      Breakfast - flip-disc wall

Photo walls and photobooths are constantly evolving. Breakfast Inc’s solution is as eye-catching as they come. Single circular discs are rotated via magnets which can mirror what a forward-facing camera captures, or perhaps a pre-programmed animation or logo. It’s clean, brilliant and beautiful and the sound of the discs turning is straight out of your ASMR dreams.

2)      Vitastiq – vitamin testing pen

On a much smaller scale but still on tech side – this brilliant little device is pressed against your skin to read your vitamin and mineral levels. It’s not invasive in anyway and incredibly fast. Perfect if your brand sits in the health, wellness and nutrition space.

3)      Prinker - instant (False) tattoo printer

Look, all the cool kids are getting “sick ink” these days… and a lot of those cool kids are instantly regretting their decision too but hey, that’s life, right? Anywho, Prinker’s little machine allows you to instant print any tattoo style on the person’s skin (brand logo on the forehead anyone?). It’s perfectly safe and dermatologically harmless. No Ragrets!

4)  Oh Wow – 360 Photobooth

Closer to home and an activation we’ve used numerous times but the novelty has never waned is Oh Wow Honey’s 360 photobooth. Perfect for glamourous black-tie events, festival group hugs or beautiful product shots. The confetti canon will forever hold a special place in our social media feeds.

5)      EBS - Handjet Portable Printer

Going back to the portable printing idea used for the Prinker tattoos, a more heavy-duty solution but can be used on any surface is the EBS Handjet. Integrating this piece of tech into your experience means you can allow your audience to personalise pretty much anything from clothes to concrete.

Just make sure you have a steadier hand than the guy in the video here – our OCD couldn’t be dealing with that slanted print

So, there you have it. Some ready to rock, off-the-shelf existing tech pieces that can add another dimension to your experiences and events. Get in touch if you need a creative tech solution for your campaign activity.
